Marita, Ft. Peck Assiniboine Sioux, Kiowa, age 16, wants to promote a positive image of health in her tribal communities and that’s what we’re here for—to do just that. She is passionate about combining western medicine and tribal remedies to heal illnesses. Being partially hearing impaired, that doesn’t stop Marita whatsoever! She is a musician and dances at powwows. She also sings in her high school choir. We are amazed at Marita’s willingness to go above and beyond. Some of her hobbies include jazz band ensemble, critiquing music, and critiquing tea. We R Native is very excited to have Marita as a part of this team.
