Nancy Deere-Turney

Nancy Deere-Turney is from the Muscogee (Creek) Nation in Oklahoma. Nancy is currently serving as the Culture and Language Committee Chairperson for the 2016 UNITY Youth Council of the Year, The Mvskoke Nation Youth Council. As well as being involved in the Mvskoke Nation Youth Council she keeps herself up to date on her tribal government, Volunteer work across her nation, and most importantly being involved in her ceremonial grounds and church. Nancy is passionate about Language Revitalization, and Indian Rights. Nancy is a 2016 DNC Hope Fellow, Interned at the Department of Energy Indian Energy Policy and Programs in Washington DC, Founded the Youth Enrichment Camp for Mvskoke youth and friends to understand mvskoke culture, and served as a panelist for the American Heart Association. Combining all her experience and love to help others, she is looking forward to serving as a We R Native Youth Ambassador.
