Is there a thing called the shining time in Native American culture?

Hi there and thanks for writing in!

Growing up I had never heard of the ‘shining time’ of Native culture. I also couldn’t find anything online.

If I were to make a guess, I could make a couple assumptions. I might guess this term (The shining time of Native Americans) might mean:

  • Before colonization – pre 1492. A time before colonizers massacred and tried to reform Indigenous people of the Americas
  • Or, in reference to the seventh or eighth generations. A time when our ancestors projected that our youth would reclaim our history and traditions – coming full circle to our authentic ways of living.

I wish I could help more. Maybe this bread crumb trail might lead to something. Best of luck!

Take care,
