Q: What grounds you?
If you want to know what grounds me, it’s my family, it’s my friend, it’s my community.
Knowing that I can be there for them and they will 100% be there for me.
It’s reciprocal. It’s prayer. It is culture. It is the continuity. It’s the voices of my ancestors.
It is the teachings given to me by my Elders, many of whom have passed on.
But I still remember their words and their teachings. I carry those with me. And, when I’m going through tough times those words ground me.
My grandfather frequently said tears are a gift from the Creator. Tears are for healing. Don’t be ashamed of your tears. That’s helped me many times.
Take care,
