Q: I’ve heard stories about why we should be like water, do you have any water stories you could share?
One of the most beautiful teachings that I had someone share with me was that our bodies are like water; if you don’t cry when you need to and you hold it all in, you will start to become like a still swamp.
When you allow yourself to cry and when you allow yourself to feel your emotions you become like a river that cleanses itself through the movements of water.
A river is constantly cleansing itself from becoming a murky swamp that sits still. By not doing anything, it’s just collecting more and more dirt and more and more gunk and it just becomes this overflowing amount of like bad feelings and emotions that just fester into all aspects of your life.
If you’re able to release the emotions that are asking to be released and cleansed, you give yourself the space to heal. This can ground you in a way that can allow for a lot more beautiful things to take up that space instead of holding space for those negative things.
Take care,
