ASK YOUR RELATIVE QUESTIONS

How do I live a life of continual dysfunction? – Sincerely a Anishinabekwe Living on a Reservation

Dear Relative,

Huge kudos to you for reaching out. I understand that sometimes it is really hard to ask about resources for help. We are living in an unprecedented time, there is a lot of stress that we are all dealing with right now. There are many ways we navigate this world, some of those ways can be seen as “dysfunctional”, others are healthier. It sounds like right now finding a counselor to talk through some of the things you are coping with would be helpful.

You can contact your:

  • School Counselor
  • Tribal Clinic – Mental Health Services
  • Mental Health America has a zip code locator to help you find clinics near you. They also have a Crisis hotline you can call: 1-800-273-TALK.

A few months ago I had a similar question that came up. You can see the answer to that question at WeRNative.

If you want to talk to someone immediately, please text START to 741741.

Thanks for writing in. I’m sending you my thoughts and prayers.

Take care,

Auntie Manda
